We had the absolute pleasure of having Chef David and his assistant Larraine cook a private dinner in our home for our wedding anniversary, and it was nothing short of amazing. From the moment they arrived, they were warm, friendly, and professional — and by the end of the night, it felt like we were hosting old friends rather than just a dinner service.

The menu Chef David created was exceptional from start to finish. We were welcomed with a chilled bottle of Veuve Clicquot, setting the tone for the evening. Every course that followed was perfectly balanced, creative, and beautifully presented — from the Beef Carpaccio Rice Paper Roll to the Cream of Jerusalem Artichoke Soup (that phyllo “cigar” with bacon was incredible!), to the Compressed Watermelon with Feta Cream and Balsamic Syrup, which was as refreshing and visually stunning as it was delicious. Each bite was thoughtful and perfectly executed.

The Grilled Beef Tenderloin Filet was cooked to perfection — tender, flavorful, and complemented beautifully by the Manchego polenta and pumpkinseed salsa. And the finale, a Coconut Rocher with Dutch Chocolate Cream and Tropical Fruit Compote, was the perfect sweet ending to an already flawless meal.

Not only was the food outstanding, but Chef David and Larraine were such a joy to talk with throughout the evening. Their passion for food and hospitality truly shines through in everything they do.

Chef David created a menu, provided service and kitchen staff for my 70th birthday this week. He was challenged by a 50+ year old kitchen in the penthouse of my building and he along with his team made it work. 22 guests had an incredible meal with passed hors d’oeuvres. The food absolutely delicious wait staff, Terry, Lorraine and Madeleine - Sous chefs Chris and Vince thank you everyone will remember this celebration.

Prior to this I had the pleasure of enjoying my first experience of the full (rice table) rijsttfal experience. The food was amazing wine pairings spot on. All in attendance had some common interests David and staff so warm and welcoming can’t wait for the next opportunity!!!

Chef David created one of the most memorable dining experiences our family has ever had.

We hired him to prepare an intimate dinner at our home to celebrate my wife’s 50th birthday, and from start to finish the experience was extraordinary. The food was genuinely at the level of a Michelin-starred restaurant, yet somehow felt even more special because it was served in our own home surrounded by family.

Every course was stunning. The menu was creative, beautifully presented, and perfectly paced. Each dish had layers of flavor that surprised and delighted our guests. More than once during the evening, people paused mid-conversation just to comment on how incredible the food was. It is rare to have a meal where every single course exceeds expectations, but Chef David accomplished exactly that.

Equally impressive was the service. Chef David and his team handled everything seamlessly. The execution was flawless, the presentation elegant, and the kitchen was left spotless at the end of the evening. All we had to do was enjoy the celebration.

Beyond his culinary talent, Chef David was thoughtful, collaborative, and genuinely invested in making the evening special. He took the time to understand our preferences and crafted a menu that felt personal and unique.

We have dined at some exceptional restaurants around the world, and I can honestly say this experience ranks among the best. He exceeded every expectation and helped create an unforgettable evening for our family.

They handled every details with precision and care - from planning a beautifully curated menu to coordinating all of the rentals, setting up the tables with an elegant touch, and seamlessly breaking everything down at the end of the night. They level of professionalism and attention to detail was unmatched.

The meal itself was extraordinary - each course perfectly balanced creativity and flavor. Working with Chef David made hosting this event a dream. We cannot recommend him highly enough and only wish we were located in the Chicago area so we had the opportunity to collaborate more often.

From start to finish, David was a top tier chef and professional. I loved collaborating with him on the space, flow of the 100+ person party, menu, and the ultimate guest and honoree experience. David kept me on budget, delighted all of my guests with gastronomical surprises from Maine lobster rolls, to a Brazilian meat station, to beautiful summer salads you never thought of. He enabled me to enjoy the evening and my guests, and used his artistic brilliance to design table scapes and beautiful food trays ... from delectable passed hors d'ouevres to food stations with all the accoutrements. Just, wow. His team was well trained and charmed my guests with their special hospitality. Also as important, Chef David and his team made sure my glassware and dishes were washed, put away, and my house was back to daily status before they left. That was an important and the last of the gifts shared by Chef David and his talented team. He provided something special, not to be repeated by anyone else!! Thank you for honoring my mother and her 90th birthday in such a beautiful way, Chef David and team!!

We had an incredible experience working with Chef David de Quay and his team for our housewarming party. David and his two servers arrived right on time and took full ownership of the logistics, which allowed my husband and I to focus on getting ready and enjoying the evening. They executed a beautiful setup across our dining and living rooms, and the passed hors d’oeuvres were as delicious as they were artfully presented. The team was thoughtful and attentive, making sure to accommodate our guests’ dietary restrictions without missing a beat. David also referred us to Jessica, a fantastic bartender who was a true highlight of the evening. She remembered guests’ favorite drinks, made excellent cocktail suggestions, and kept the energy warm and welcoming. Every detail was handled seamlessly, and our guests raved about the food, drinks, and service. I’d work with them again in a heartbeat and recommend them without hesitation.
